computers!

Its just another day of relaxing at home. And so, I've decided to talk about my laptop. I've been using it for a few months now and its been rubbish. It can't do anything more than just web browsing, msn, skype and simple word processing. Even when I'm blogging, the small screen deters me from adding pictures into my entries because they simply won't fit into my tiny little screen.

So, what have I gotten for $600?

Its a EeePC!
I've got myself a sub 1kg netbook that can run for quite a long time on a single charge. It won't weigh me down when I bring it out for a walk and since it has Wi-Fi and full internet capabilities, it is almost as good as a normal laptop.

Youtube? Yes it works.
Watching movie trailers from apple at 'high' or 'large' mode? Splendid!
Do internet banking? Can.

However, there are many minor inconveniences for using Linux as an operating system.

Firstly, it doesn't support any windows software, which means that msn has to be signed in using a third party software which does not allow offline messaging.

Typing a document with Openoffice does not look as professional as typing in Windows with... Openoffice. So strange!

I am still unable to connect my phone to my laptop! How frustrating is that?

Don't even think of trying to edit your photos from this tiny baby. Your tools, palettes and other stuff will be more than enough to clutter your screen and soon enough, you'll be too sian to continue. Really.

To end this entry, I shall give an advise to those still want to buy a netbook, make sure that it is not your primary computer. Frankly, its really good to have one by your side when you NEED a basic computing tool, but not something you would wanna use all the time.
